Question - When I use colour pencils and I look at it from the side, it looks shiny, why does this happen?

Answer - The reason this happens is because, you are probably applying too much pressure to the paper.

Try drawing very lightly, if you want more colour then add more layers.

Question - Is is better to have expensive pencils?

Answer - We would say good quality pencils will definitely give you a better result. 

If you are just starting out, this will also give you a great confidence boost.

Question - Do you think tracing a picture is cheating?

Answer - No we don't, there is nothing wrong with tracing the edges of a picture, after all it is the skill of actually drawing the picture that counts.

Tracing your picture also guarantees you will get your drawing in the centre of the paper.
