Trinca

(Essex)

Trincamalee (Trinca for short) or Mrs Orange! Was a 15hh registered Arab Mare.

Trinca was bred by Jane Van Lennep in Essex, sire was Truimphal Chant. She was Liver Chestnut, with a wonky blaze on her face, which ended over her right nostril. I acquired Trinca on loan from a friend, at 4 years old, who didn't click with her, there started a love/love relationship!

Se was PRINCESS! She loved attention, which was great, as she lived at a local Riding School, where I worked as Yard Manager. She made lots of friends over the years, demanding attention, as was her right!

I used her in a few lessons for more experienced riders, as a demo for young learners, and as a model for children to bathe.

Picture this, 8 kids, all with sponges, a bucket both sides, scrubbing which ever part of her they could reach. She never moved! when bath time was over, she would walk away, just leaving 4 solid dry hoof marks on the concrete! She was the best baby sitter!

She also loved my husband Steve, he was her favourite toy! She would play TAG in the field with him, stand patiently whilst he put a head collar on to come in from the field, steal his cap, drop it on the floor and then spook! He would offer her a mint, she would be pulling at his fingers with her lips to hurry him up, he would say to her, 'Now, you are not going to bite me, are you'? She would take the mint, crunch it and then hold his thumb in her mouth, not actually biting, just holding!

She was also famous, as she was pictured in 2 books written by her breeder.

As a family we all loved her. She was honest and trustworthy and was with us up until she passed away aged 22.

Girly Trinca
by: JanD

I knew Trinca, the first time I saw her, she was so girly, the way she walked and held her tail up swishing it around, it was like she had horsey high heels on.

She was a lovely horse, so sad our pets have to pass on.
